Prodromal Labor Day Seven

Filed under: Uncategorized — by lhoham @ 8:14 pm

Went to the doctor. Still no real progress. Soft and effacing but nothing to write home about. Exhausted. Cried for a solid hour. Not much they can do. Told me to walk to try and get things moving which I will do more of tomorrow if I can. They said it is uncommon for this to go on so long.

But, nothing about this pregnancy has been common.

Spirits are a bit down today, but I just need to suck it up. After two long years, I’m really almost there…just doesn’t always feel like it! I appreciate the continued love and support! XOXO

  1. I had the same thing with my first pregnancy (and a bit with this one too). Last time to get the ball rolling I had an accupuncture session and drank some red raspberry tea. I was overdue the first time, but within 48 hours of those two things I kicked into labor and was already 6cm by the time I got to L&D.

I know it’s rough. Really, I do. Hang in there!

  2. Oh you poor thing. I hope something gives here soon so you can find some relief. I only had to go through about 12 hours of contractions before my water broke with the twins and then it wasn’t that bad until they made me get the epidural. Thinking good thoughts an yes, you are so close to the end of the journey and then a new journey will begin. (((Hugs)))

  3. I SOOO know how you are feeling. Here is a link to my blog when the contractions began: http://tessiekeys.blogspot.com/2008/11/adventures-in-traveling.html

You can read my posts and all I did from that point until my water broke on December 14. The day before he arrived, I had my friend, an attorney, draft an EVICTION notice – perhaps this can help you? I swear it sent me into labor!

If nothing else, maybe you can get a good laugh. I know how you feel and I wish there was more I could do for you.

  4. Damn. A week of that crap? I’m surprised you’re still conscious and able to type! Wish they’d give you a shot of morphine and gravol and send you home to fall asleep in a warm bath with a glass of wine. I bet what you need more than anything at this point is a nice rest, not forcing yourself to walk to move things along.
    How frustrated you must be!

  5. Hi Honey..If you have the go ahead from the doctor to have a glass of wine (as distinct from a whole bottle), maybe that would be good medicine. I hope you’re feeling better today (2/23). He’s almost here! And we all know he is going to be so worth it! Love you, Honey. PS This little guy had better come through with some nice Mother’s Day gifts!
